We left a little later than anticipated...10:30 am!!
But we are ready for some family time...Nick has been working so much lately with side jobs.
Here we come Oklahoma!
We saw this cow by an abandoned house...it just looked interesting.
So the address you get for the Salt Plains is for the park ranger area not where you actually go to dig for crystals. So another 20 minutes around the lake we finally made it.
Wow this place is super unique!! It looks like white sandy beaches with no ocean! Ha.
It was very pretty.
So you are supposed to dig a 2 by 2 hole and then it will fill in with water from underneath...then you dig around for brown crystals!

Then a nice family told us about three holes that were already dug that they found a bunch of crystals in. So we headed over. Nick and the girls looked while I took pics...but they weren't finding any. So I helped and we found a bunch...including a big one! Yay. Super cool!! And this was all FREE!!

As we were driving me saw a memorial set up with these tanks.
Yukon before you get to Oklahoma City is the birth place of Garth Brooks!! Cool.
He even has his own blvd!!
We are here....first time as a family at an Embassy Suites!
We checked in super quickly, checked out the reception with free alcohol but it wasn't very good. Then it was time to go get some dinner..we hit up shorty smalls which was very close to the hotel.
We are starving!! Its already like 7:30!!
Nick and I split the large chicken fried steak....which was gigantic...this is already split on my plate.
Adelyn and Ella got fried catfish, onion rings and fries. Ella ate the mac n cheese I got since its her favorite! Pretty good food! A little commericalized.
We headed back to the hotel..we are all exhausted from 4th of July!!
Ready for more adventures tomorrow!!
